go/packages: check for duplicate package IDs in driver response Some GOPACKAGESDRIVER programs (e.g. for bazel) have reported duplicate Package records in their response for the same ID. This has led to consistency problems in gopls (go.dev/issue/63822). This change causes packages.Load to reject driver responses that fail this basic validity check. The necessary fix is to install a newer GOPACKAGESDRIVER in which this bug has been fixed. However, that has not happened yet. Reviewers: is this too strong an assertion to release in gopls until a new driver is available? Do we have any sense of how frequent these errors occur? Or how quickly the driver recovers once nudged by file state changes and queried again? This repository provides the golang.org/x/tools module, comprising various tools and packages mostly for static analysis of Go programs, some of which are listed below. Use the “Go reference” link above for more information about any package.
It also contains the golang.org/x/tools/gopls module, whose root package is a language-server protocol (LSP) server for Go. An LSP server analyses the source code of a project and responds to requests from a wide range of editors such as VSCode and Vim, allowing them to support IDE-like functionality.

go/gcexportdata and go/gccgoexportdata read and write the binary files containing type information used by the standard and gccgo compilers.
